After many years of war between the K’iche’ and the Rabinal, having conquered and exchanged several territories, peace has finally been achieved. They have agreed to fight jointly with their armies, send yearly gifts as tributes, and the Rabinal Prince, Atz, is to be married to the K’iche’ Princess, Anab, further solidifying the union between the two nations. Threatening the balance of this peace is Prince Atz’s desire for glory.

Kamikal (death) is written in the Mayan language of K’iche’. Primarily using the words wachulew (on the Earth) and wachin ri k’ij (to shine the sun), Kamikal is a representation of the life/death cycle center to Mayan culture.
